Ride on an Antique Historic Tram in Krakow

Every summer the city of Krakow runs their Historic Line or Museum Line as Tram 0 on Sundays. This year the program will run until September 24, 2023.

The easiest way to take a ride on the historical line is to go to where it starts at the stop named “Dajwor”.  This stop is located on the street Swietego Wawrzynca, between the streets Starowislna and Dajwor.

Expect Tram 0 to be there every Sunday during its season- starting around 11:30 am and ending around 6:30 pm- with a departure every 90 minutes from the stop Dajwor (mentioned above).

5️⃣0️⃣0️⃣➕ Things to do in Krakow (6/500): Ride a Historic Tram! You’ve got several Sundays left to enjoy a ride through the city on a antique tram- and we highly recommend it! Sitting on the wooden seats really makes you appreciate the modern day comforts of our current tram system- but is of course, also a really fun experience to feel like you’ve traveled back in time! Every Sunday a different tram runs- and for most tourists it will be easiest to catch it from the stop Dajwor in Kazimierz and ride it until the stop in the Old Town. We even got a souvenir ticket on our last ride- which was modeled after actual tickets used decades ago! The city’s official tourism office InfoKrakow stated about the project, “The Krakow Museum Line is back! On June 23, antique trams and buses will once again drive through the streets of Krakow. The Krakow Museum Line is a special line operating during the summer season. It’s course corresponds to the historic Cracow routes. Above all, it brings back historic transport fleet, creating a chance to ride vehicles from the times long gone. The tram line number 0 is already known. This year, the vintage carriages will be setting off on Sundays and holidays between June 23 and September 22. Passengers will be able to move from Dajwor to Cichy Kącik and back.”

You have a few options for when to get off. You can ride the historic tram to the end of the line, where you are dropped off near the Błonia Meadows- but you will be about 30 minutes walking from the Main Square. Of course there are regular trams there that can take you where you need to go next as well. But for many tourists, getting off at one of the stops along the way, will prove most effective for your next sightseeing adventures. For example, the stops Św. Gertrudy – Dominikańska – Franciszkańska will all put you close enough to the old town for your continued adventures.

For more information about the historic tram lines- visit their website or follow their weekly updates on facebook on their page titled “Krakowska Linia Muzealna”.

There are also historic busses running as well- but their routes are further outside the tourist areas.
