The Best Place for Coffee in Krakow: Aura Cafe at Stary Kleparz

Krakow’s cafe culture is serious. And there are hundreds of cafes to go to for a little treat. Of course we recommend going to as many as you can. But our all time favorite place to stop and have a cappuccino is a little hidden gem, just outside the Old Town borders, in the oldest covered market in Krakow known as Stary Kleparz. The actual name of the cafe here is called Aura, but the sign that they put out front just simply says “KAWA” which means coffee in Polish.

Not only is the quality of the espresso here top-notch, but the simply written chalk menu is as cute as it gets. It’s a no-fuss place that has quick service, hot drinks (and cold if you want it of course), and even little snacks.

Their chocolate covered almonds are AMAZING.

With a huge selection of teas as well. And plant-blased, or lactose-free milks, there’s something for everyone.

And those almonds we talked about- they sell them by the bag, along with their in-house roasted coffee and blends of tea, so there’s no reason to not get a little souvenir from the shop as well.

With a line of wooden chairs and tables lining the side of the cafe, plus stone benches to cozy up on, and fresh flowers and thick ivy growing all around you, the vibes here are perfect.
