The Wildside of Zakrzowek

So we’ve written article after article about the pools of Zakrzowek, but these new pools only take up a portion of this huge lake. So there is still many access points to reach the swimmable area at your own risk. While there are many pathways you can hike, and cliffs you can jump off of, we’re not going to recommend that because it’s just too dangerous.

What we can recommend though is going down to the beach that is part of the “Sports Recreation Complex” area. The swimming here is still at your own risk, but you can easily wade into the waters, giving you the ability to decide how deep you really want to go. Personally, I go all the way in and spend hours floating about the nicest water to swim in Krakow. In fact someone recently said that the water here must be filled with minerals because it is after all, a former limestone quarry. And I couldn’t agree more! My hair feels wonderful after swimming here!

To get to his beach side of the lake you’ll walk past the area with the new cafe, changing rooms, and entrance down into the pools.

Then you’ll take a left at the fork in the road where the bike racks are.

Walk down this road and you eventually get to the beach area where you can access the lake.

This part of Zakrzowek is pet-friendly, and also a great place to launch a SUP from, or any floatie you may have.

To get to Zakrzowek in general, we like to take Tram 17 or 18 to the stop Norymberska. And then walk up to the entrance to the park that way by navigating to this point on Google Maps.
