Christmas Markets aren’t the only thing happening in Krakow this time of year- just a short look at part of the ChanuKrAkow celebrations at the Jewish Community Center in Krakow this year!
We were lucky enough to be able to attend just part of the ChanuKrakow celebrations this year in the Kazimierz District. Hundreds gathered at the Jewish Community Center in Krakow or as we call it the JCC, to take part in a myriad of workshops, discussions and movie screenings. Plus the lighting of the 5th Chanukah candle.
Our first workshop of the evening was led by Hadley Baumol and Kasia Leonardi. These wonderful chefs taught us how to make traditional doughnuts and potato pancakes (latkes)! We got to form the dough, fry it, and top it with deliciousness; such as, chocolate, glaze, sprinkles, and more… Some were even luck enough to put jelly inside their donuts!
After that it was on to the 3rd floor of the JCC to take part in a candle-making class led by Max Zubek. Everyone’s candles were so beautiful- and all very different. Some were beeswax designs, while others were beautifully decorated votive candles.
Thanks again for having us! And Happy Hanukkah (or Chanukah)!
